Some background…

When I was a child beginning to navigate the world as a disabled person in the mid-late 2000s, my parents and I quickly found there was very little information on the kinds of services that were available to me – in fact, some schemes on this page hadn’t been introduced at that time!

Today, most of us turn to the internet for answers – but when it comes to disability information, many online resources are still vague, outdated, and fail to provide the information and answers we need.

The aim of this guide is to provide clear, easy-to-read, and regularly updated information on UK disability benefits, services, and support schemes.

This guide covers:

  • Charities and non-profit organisations offering assistance
  • Disability benefits and financial support in the UK
  • Grants and funding schemes for disabled people
  • Accessibility and mobility services
  • Support for disabled students and employees

You will still need to access government websites in order to apply for most of what you see here – this page isn’t a replacement for that – but my hope is that it saves you some time, energy, and potentially make the process easier to understand.

This is a non-exhaustive list – I’ll keep adding new resources and updating existing ones as often as I’m able to.
