This allowance is a 25% discount in rates for any household where:
• A disabled person lives
• The property has been internally adapted or has added additional facilities to meet the needs of said person
Here is a list of the types of adaptations that qualify. Note that having a disabilitydoesn’t automatically entitle you to a decrease in your rates.

The application Process

To apply, the person paying the rates on the property needs to complete this form.

The form needs to then be sent to the Land & Property Services either through:

• Email: applicationbased.raterelief@finance-ni.gov.uk
• Contacting the DPA team using their online services
• Writing to them

For the application process, you need:

• information about the person’s disability
• Any supporting medical evidence of said person’s disability
• A list of adaptations made to your home to accommodate the disabled person’s needs

Be aware that a home visit may be required if more information is needed.
